Librarian Breakdown: Free Speech and Censorship in the age of Trump

I keep hearing from people on the right, that the left is trying to censor them and that we are really the ones who are against freedom of speech. So I will put my librarian hat on again and break this down for you.

If someone says something you say is racist, misogynistic, homophobic, etc. that is also free speech. You are not being silenced. You are being criticized just like you are criticizing the left for being snowflakes, cucks, communists, whatever. Learn the difference. This is a very important distinction.

It's Time to Hold The Religious Leaders of our Trump Voting Parents Accountable

Like many other people, I was in a state of shock on November 9th when I found out our country had chosen Trump to be our next president. I wondered who were all these people that would vote for a megalomaniac monster. Then . . . I found out my parents voted for him. They had previously told me they planned to not vote for either of the main candidates so I l hadn't anticipated this. I felt completely betrayed and also very disgusted.

Why I Decided to Self-Publish

Since I announced I was publishing a book last month (June 2016), I have had a lot of people ask me why I decided to self-publish instead of going the traditional route. As someone with a background in libraries, I know there is a lot of stigma associated with self-published books. Librarians do not usually order self-published books to put in their library's collections unless they are enormous best-sellers that patrons are actively requesting (e.g. Hugh Howey's Wool).
